  • Cylindrical projections
    • Distorts shape in favor of direction and distance
    • Mercator (conformal)
    • Peters (equivalent or equal-area)
    • Transverse Mercator
      • Pushes distortion to edges, good for N-S regions
      • e.g. British National Grid
      • other nat'l grid systems
